The Micro Protector is used to detect wireless bugging devices of all kinds.
The user has no need of prior technical expertise in order to employ the search device successfully.
The device evaluates high frequency electromagnetic radiation received by the antenna up to a frequency of 12000 MHz and converts it into a visual and audible signal, taking into account all known types of modulation.
An integrated microcontroller continuously calculates the rms value of the incoming signals and generates a response threshold when the „KillRef“ button is pressed.
Acoustic signaling of the field strength is achieved by means of a built-in speaker or earphones that can be plugged into the device.
A built-in, high capacity, rechargeable battery (LiPo) allows a continuous operating time of more than 2 hours.
All known transmission sources, such as WLAN routers, DECT telephones and stations, cell phones, etc., should be turned off before scanning a room for bugs.
Then stand in the centre of the room and switch the device on. You should hear a slow ticking sound and the display should not show any signal strength. In case a field strength is already displayed, briefly press and release the „KillRef“ button.
Then slowly search the room, taking care to approach all the possible hiding places. As you approach a mini spy (or a different transmission source), the acoustic signal intensifies and the signal on the display increases.
If the signal on the display reaches the edge of the display screen (full display bar) as you approach a source, press the „KillRef“ button again. Doing so optimally adjusts the sensitivity level and expands the search area, enabling the precise localisation of the bugging device.
If you would like to repeat the search in the same room, stand in the middle of the room again and press the „KillRef“ button; the sensitivity level will automatically be set to a starting value.
3) „KillRef“- Button
Pressing the „KillRef“ button causes complex algorithms to execute for an optimal setting of the device.
The user does not need to have any knowledge of the internal functions and the button can be pressed at practically any time.
This always generates optimal settings for the continued search.
Pressing the „KillRef“ button when the edge of the display screen is reached Strong sources of transmission can cause the device’s display to already reach its maximum when you are still several meters away from the transmitter.
Pressing the „KillRef“ button in this case reduces the sensitivity to an optimum value, and the entire display area will once again be available for the remaining distance to the transmitting source. You can repeat this process several times to enable you to localize the mini spy within centimeters.
The delivery package includes two omnidirectional and two LogPer directional antennas. Omnidirectional antennas receive the field strength from all directions; you have to hold the antenna as you search for and approach the transmitting source. Advantages are its compact design and wide frequency range.
LogPer directional antennas enable rapid direction-finding. Stand in the middle of the room, turn once on your axis and thus determine the direction of maximum field strength. Once you know the direction, you can begin to approach the bugging device. The advantage is the faster localization of the transmission source.
The different antennas each have a specific frequency range in which they are:
- Short Omni Antenna: 900 – 12000 MHz
- Long Omni Antenna: 20 – 1500 MHz
- Large LogPer Antenna: 900 – 2500 MHz
- Small LogPer Antenna: 2000 – 11000 MHz
The device features intelligent charging electronics and thus ensures an ideal battery charging status and a long battery life. Charging time is approximately 2 hours.
Charging for longer than 2 hours is not a problem, as electronic overcharge protection is included. The display shows the charging status.

DO NOT OPEN OR MECHANICALLY DAMAGE THE DEVICE. DO NOT EXPOSE THE DEVICE TO MOISTURE. DUE TO THEIR ENORMOUS ENERGY DENSITY, LITHIUM POLYMER CELLS CAN IGNITE OR EXPLODE IF DAMAGED.
THIS CAN BE CAUSED BY EXTREME OVERCHARGING, OVERLOADING OR MECHANICAL DAMAGE, FOR EXAMPLE.
